- The NAOBF’s mission is to promote organic agriculture and brewing. Your beer can qualify for the NAOBF in one of three ways:
- 100% Organic - means your beer must contain 100% organically produced ingredients, excluding added water and salt. Any processing aids used must be organic.
- Organic - means your beer must use 95% organic ingredients, excluding added water & salt.
- Made with Organic Ingredients - means your beer must contain at least 70% organic ingredients, excluding added water and salt. Your beer may contain organic and nonorganic forms of the same ingredient, i.e. malts.
- If you do use any non-organic ingredients, please specify the percentage and list the ingredients on the application.
- The event will purchase a total of eight 15.5 or 13.2 bbl kegs. We will not accept 1/4 or 1/6 bbl kegs.
- Your brewery may provide up to two styles.
- The Festival will accept cask-conditioned kegs, providing your brewery takes responsibility for setting it up. We will not accept products on nitro.
PRICING
- The Festival will pay, including shipping to Portland, $160 per keg for a 15.5 gallon keg; or $140 for a 13.2 gallon keg. If your beer costs more than this, we will charge patrons double tokens.
- The price per keg must include freight charges to Roots Organic Brewing, 1520 SE 7th Ave, Portland, OR 97214.
- The Festival pays for return shipment of empty kegs, so your price should not reflect return shipment. Kegs not tapped at the festival will not be purchased.
- Your brewery agrees to pay for return shipment of any untapped kegs.
ON-SITE DELIVERY
- If you have a local distributor or self distribute, your distributor or brewery is responsible for delivering your beer directly to the festival at Overlook Park at N Fremont and Interstate Ave. Kegs are to be delivered on Thursday, June 24 between 8 am and 5 pm.
OUT OF AREA SHIPPING
- If you do not have a distributor in the Portland area, you will be using Roots Organic Brewing as your distributor. You will ship your beer to Roots Organic Brewing, 1520 SE 7th Ave, Portland, OR 97214
- Beer will be received at Roots on weekdays from June 21 to June 24 between l0 am and 4 pm

- All kegs must be identified with the brewery name somewhere on the keg in addition to the valve dust cover.
- For any questions regarding receipt of your beer contact Teddy Peetz, 503-781-6605.

INVOICING
- If you are using a distributor in the Portland area other than Roots Organic Brewing, you need to bill that distributor directly for your beer.
- If you do not have a distributor in the Portland area, you will be using Roots Organic Brewing as your distributor. In this case, mail your invoice separate from the beer to NAOBF, c/o 1520 SE 7th Ave, Portland, OR 97214.
- On your invoice, make sure the cost of beer per keg includes freight to Roots Organic Brewing. (PRICING EXAMPLE: A 15.5 bbl keg of your beer costs $120. The total freight to Portland for 8 kegs is $160, which breaks out to $20 per keg. Therefore, the price per keg is $140. That is the amount that should be entered on the “price per keg” line of the application.
- Please keep the keg deposit as a separate line item.
- Your invoice should have only two line items: the total cost of beer and the keg deposit.
- Invoices will be paid on Monday, June 28, following the festival.

- For local distributors and local brewers, all tapped and untapped kegs are to be picked up from Roots Organic Brewing no later than 12 pm on Monday, June 28.
- For out-of-area brewers, all empty kegs will be shipped within the Continental US no later than Monday, June 28.
- The festival will obtain authorization from OLCC to return all full kegs of beer immediately after the event through the distributor or brewery for credit. Your brewery is responsible for furnishing and paying for transportation for return shipment of any untapped kegs unless other arrangements are made.
SIGNAGE
- The festival will assume all responsibility for creating the signage for your pouring station.
- Your brewery will need to provide a high-resolution color logo for your brewery (not beer) by May 1. The artwork needs to be 300 dpi and saved as a tif, eps, jpg or pdf file.
- We will accept one banner per brewery to hang on the fence surrounding the perimeter of the fest. The banner is not to exceed 24"x 48" in size and must be received no later than Monday, June 21. Banners may be sent or delivered with the beer. Any banners left at the end of the festival will be returned to the distributor or brewery.
