We have filled our quota of Volunteers for this years Festival. Thank you Volunteers!

Volunteers should arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled shift. Servers must not drink alcohol before Serving! No Exceptions. You must be 21 to serve beer. Those wishing to serve with family and/or friends should try to arrive at Overlook Park a bit earlier.

To “Check In” volunteers should enter the event on Fremont Street, near the large oak tree towards the playground, and not the main entrance.

Servers cannot have wrist bands on while they serve, so if you are a server who does enter through the main entrance please do not get a wrist band.

Its going to be a warm one! Even though servers will be under tents, they should dress to be cool and remember their sunscreen!

Plan on taking public transportation to the event. The Interstate MAX/Yellow Line “Overlook Park” Station is directly across from Overlook Park and is the second stop from the Rose Quarter transit mall, heading North. Use the Tri-Met website for directions from your door to Overlook Park.

Thank you all for volunteering, and for helping make this event a success!

WHAT: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk is the nation’s night to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer. In fiscal year 2007, the Walk raised over $34 million for research and patient services nation wide. In Oregon the Walk raised over $355,000.

WHY: To benefit the efforts of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to find cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and to provide education and services for patients with these diseases and their families.

HOW: Participants walk along a two- to three-mile route in their neighborhoods, carrying lighted balloons—white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of a loved one. Dedication banners provide an opportunity to display a name or message, honoring or commemorating a family member or friend with cancer.

To register visit www.lightthenight.org or or sign up at the booth during the Festival
